The following formula is used to predict the horse’s coat color based on the parent colors and gene type.

Predicted Color = f(Sire Color, Dam Color, Gene Type)

Variables:

  • Predicted Color is the coat color of the offspring
  • Sire Color is the coat color of the father
  • Dam Color is the coat color of the mother
  • Gene Type is whether the gene is dominant or recessive
