GPA Calculation Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the GPA from your grades and credits:

GPA = (Grade Points * Credits) / Total Credits

Variables:

  • GPA is the Grade Point Average.
  • Grade Points are the points assigned to a grade (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.).
  • Credits are the credit hours assigned to a course.
  • Total Credits is the sum of all credit hours taken.
