NBA Game Score Calculation Formula
The following formula is used to calculate the total score for an NBA game:
Total Score = Points Scored + Assists + Rebounds
For advanced scoring, the formula includes additional statistics:
Advanced Score = (Steals + Blocks) - (Turnovers + Personal Fouls)
Variables:
- Total Score is the combined score from basic statistics.
- Advanced Score includes defensive and error statistics.
- Points Scored is the total points scored in the game.
- Assists is the number of assists made.
- Rebounds is the number of rebounds collected.
- Steals is the number of steals achieved.
- Blocks is the number of blocks made.
- Turnovers is the number of times possession was lost.
- Personal Fouls is the number of personal fouls committed.
To calculate the total score, sum the points scored, assists, and rebounds. For advanced scoring, add the steals and blocks, then subtract the turnovers and personal fouls.
