How This Imbuing Calculator Works
This tool helps you estimate the primary materials needed for imbuing an item in Ultima Online. Here’s a quick guide to the inputs:
- Property to Imbue: Select the magical property you wish to enhance or add to your item. Different properties have different maximum intensities and may use different gem types (though this calculator simplifies gem types for general estimation). The typical maximum for the selected property will be shown.
- Current Intensity: If the item already has some of the selected property, enter its current value here. For a new property, this will be 0. The unit (e.g., %, points) will update based on the property.
- Target Intensity: Enter the desired final intensity for the property. This should not exceed the property’s maximum.
Once you click “Calculate Materials,” the tool will estimate the number of gems and magical residue required. Please note, this is an estimation and doesn’t account for imbuing skill, Soulforge bonuses, specific item limitations, or overall item intensity caps. It assumes each point of intensity costs a base amount of materials.
Tips for Successful Imbuing
While this calculator helps with material planning, remember these crucial aspects of imbuing:
- Gather Your Resources: Ensure you have enough gems (Tourmaline, Ruby, Sapphire, etc.), Magical Residue, and possibly Enchanted Essence or Relic Fragments for more advanced imbuing.
- Soulforge is Key: Always use a Soulforge! Public Soulforges are common, or you can place one in your house. Higher quality Soulforges (Exceptional, Powerful) can improve success rates and reduce material consumption slightly (not factored in this basic calculator).
- Skill Matters: Your Imbuing skill directly impacts your success chance. Higher skill means fewer failed attempts, saving you valuable resources in the long run.
- Item Intensity Caps: Be mindful of an item’s total intensity limit (usually 400-550% depending on the item and era). Over-imbuing one property might prevent you from adding others.
